Dental Services for Mount Auburn Dental
Dr. Helmkamp and his team are dedicated to the preservation of your health. While aesthetics are a very important key to looking and feeling your best, our number one goal is to see that your dental health is the best it can be in order to improve your overall health. It is a well-documented fact that poor dental health contributes to and even leads to heart disease, stroke, pneumonia, diabetes, premature births and more.
Preservation and prevention will save you time, money and your own good health.
Before and After
This patient did not like her “spotted, uneven teeth”. The treatment choice for this patient was porcelain veneers which not only took care of the discoloration but also helped to give the teeth a more uniform look by aligning and lengthening the front teeth. This took only 2 visits, done within 3 weeks!
Oral Sedation
Are you afraid of the dentist? Fearful of just walking intpo a dental office? We can help you! Dr. Helmkamp is a member of the Doctors for Oral Conscious Sedation (DOCS). With just a pill, you can be totally relaxed and many times not even remember the procedures. We offer this for simple cleanings or any type of appointment.Implant Crowns and Dentures
Crowns and conventional bridges or dentures may not be your only options when replacing missing teeth. For some people, dental implants offer a smile that looks and feels very natural. Surgically placed below the gums over a series of appointments, implants fuse to the jawbone and serve as a base for individual replacement teeth, bridges or a denture.
Invisalign
Invisalign is a series of clear, removable teeth aligners that both orthodontists and dentists use as an alternative to traditional metal dental braces. The most obvious advantage of the treatment is cosmetic; the aligners are completely transparent, therefore far more difficult to detect than traditional wire and bracket braces. This is a great alternative for adults who always wished they could have straightened their teeth when they were young. Here’s your chance!
Cosmetic (metal-free) Resorations
By using the newest dental materials and technologies, we can offer for most patients, restorations with no metal. All of our small restorations are tooth colored composite fillings. We have not used amalgam mercury containing fillings for over five years.
One Visit Lab-Fabricated Porcelain Restorations
With CEREC 3D technology our office has the capability to fabricate all porcelain restorations in our in-office lab. We can fabricate porcelain crowns, inlays and onlays in one visit, so this means no temporary and no return visit.
Non-Surgical Gum Treatment
Gum disease or periodontal disease is the main reason for tooth loss (yes, even more than tooth decay!) If you are diagnosed with periodontal (gum) disease, it means you have pockets in the gum tissue and have bleeding
Porcelain Veneers
Porcelain veneers are the latest in dentistry. Porcelain veneers are thin porcelain laminates which can change your smile and the way you look in two office visits.
"2 Visit" Orthodontics
The purpose of properly aligned and functioning teeth is more than merely aesthetics, or appearances. Properly aligned and functioning teeth last longer since they are easier to keep clean.
All Bonded Restorations (No Mercury)
All of our filling materials are made of composite resin which are bonded in place to seal the tooth. Mercury amalgam restorations never seal
Crowns and Bridges
Most everyone has heard the term crown or "cap". Whenever there is not enough tooth to support a filling or other restorations we will recommend a crown.
Bleaching and Whitening
Whitening your teeth by bleaching can dramatically improve your smile! Bleaching is a simple, low cost way to whiten your teeth in the privacy of your own home.
Sealants
Sealants are a plastic coating which is painted into the grooves of your teeth to prevent cavities. The ideal time for sealants is in childhood
Root Canals
Root canals give most people a negative feeling, but the procedure is usually painless. The anxiety is typically due to the time before root canal treatment
Implant Prosthesis
In some instances a person has lost their teeth due to disease or trauma, and there are no adjacent healthy teeth available on which to place a bridge.
Dentures and Partials
When someone has lost posterior teeth or cannot afford a bridge the one option may be a removable denture or removable partial denture.
